Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® (ATM®) 2024 Classes with Alison Babil
Freeze and tension can show up on any level in the body and heart. The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education takes students through gentle, sophisticated movement sequences with awareness to meet and transform habitual patterns of tension and freeze. The aim is more freedom and potency in one’s body and life. Feldenkrais is named after its founder, Moshe Feldenkrais. Dr. Feldenkrais was a high level Judo master and physicist. After a debilitating knee injury, he taught himself how to walk again using what became known as the Feldenkrais Method®.
Join us for a movement journey! Each series will focus on a different topic and include six Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons. Lessons will be suitable for beginners or experienced students in the Feldenkrais Method.
*Each series will address melting freeze and the whole body, whole person. Series topics will interconnect.
*Classes are recorded. Participants will receive recordings.

Free Feldenkrais Introduction for the 2025 Classes
January 22nd , 2025, 5:30-6:30 PM EST ZOOM LINK HERE
Join us for a free Introductory Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM) class! Class will include a brief lecture followed by a Feldenkrais movement lesson. This class is an introduction to the 2025 Feldenkrais series’ with Maintain Alignment.
Time: All classes Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 PM (6:30-6:45 optional sharing) Eastern Standard Time
Price: $132 per series. $495 for all four series.

Tending Anxiety
January 29th - March 5th, 2025, 5:30-6:30 PM EST
The body registers stress. The body is also an amazing tool to meet and transform habitual patterns of stress and anxiety. This series will gently guide you through movement lessons to support nervous system regulation, posture, and healing.
Tending Breath
March 19th - April 30th, 2025 (*no class April 23rd), 5:30-6:30 PM EST
Breathing affects our nervous system, cell health, posture, movement, and more. This series will gently guide you through breathing/movement lessons for efficient, comfortable breathing to support nervous system regulation, posture, and healing.
Tending Joy
September 10th - October 22nd, 2025, 5:30-6:30 PM EST
*NO class October 1st.
The mind and body are intimately connected. Body patterns affect mood and vice versa. This series explores body movement patterns to improve spinal health, posture, grounding, anxiety, and one’s emotional state. The lessons are offered with respect for meeting that which is present and offering possibilities in right timing.
Tending Sleep
November 5th - December 10th, 2025, 5:30-6:30 PM EST
Sleep aids in cell repair, immune function, hormone regulation, cardiovascular health, mood regulation, and more. People often fall asleep in Feldenkrais lessons, as the movements facilitate changes in the autonomic nervous system. This series will explore the Feldenkrais-inspired approach, the Sounder Sleep System®. Sounder Sleep movements combine one’s natural breath with simple Feldenkrais movements to bring one from an alert state to a place of profound rest.

Once registered:
Clothing: Please wear comfortable clothing.
Space: Please have a comfortable surface such as a carpet or yoga mat with extra padding. If you need head support please have folded bath towels or rectangular gardening kneeling pads.
Zoom cameras: If you are comfortable, please have your Zoom camera on facing your side.
Alison modifies her teaching according to students’ movement.

Alison Babil, GCFP, LMT, is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®,
a certified Sounder Sleep System® instructor and certified in Insight Acupressure, also an Alchemical Alignment graduate. She is the owner of True North Healing, in Maryland. Alison specializes in pain, somatic education, and sleep. She loves supporting people to find more ease and joy by accessing the body's wisdom.
